(b) A motorcycle, other than a motor‑driven cycle, shall be equipped with multiple‑beam lighting equipment that produces: (5) at least one rear red reflector that complies with the requirements of Section 547.325(b) and may be included as a part of the taillamp. (4) at least one stoplamp that complies with the requirements of Section 547.323(d) and (3) a taillamp or separate lamp to illuminate the rear license plate that complies with the requirements of Sections 547.322(f) and (g) (2) at least one taillamp mounted at a height from 20 to 72 inches (1) not more than two headlamps mounted at a height from 24 to 54 inches (a) A motorcycle, including a motor-driven cycle, shall be equipped with: Here are the requirements for inspection a little more difined. Motor-Driven Cycle: Every motorcycle with a motor which has an engine piston displacement of not more than 125cc. Motorcycle: Every motor vehicle having a saddle for the use of the rider and designed to propel itself with not more than three wheels in contact with the ground but excluding a tractor. Motor, Serial, or Vehicle Identification Number * Check for evidence of Financial Responsibilityġ3. This is what is required to be checked by the inspector doing a motorcycle inspection.Ġ5.07 Inspect Every Motorcycle and Motor-Driven Cycle For: (listed in suggested order of inspection) Legal and safe are two completely differant things, and just because something passes inspection does not make it legal, local and federal laws can come into play that are not covered by the state inspection. (2) at least 300 feet from the front and rear of the vehicle if the vehicle is less than 80 inches wide. (1) at least 500 feet from the front and rear of the vehicle if the vehicle is at least 80 inches wide and (e) A turn signal lamp must be visible in normal sunlight at a distance of: (2) a red or amber light, or a color between red and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the rear of the vehicle. (1) a white or amber light, or a color between white and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the front of the vehicle or (2) may be included as a part of another lamp on the vehicle. (1) shall be mounted at the same level and spaced as widely apart as practicable on the front and on the rear of the vehicle and (a)Except as provided by Subsection (b), a motor vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer shall be equipped with electric turn signal lamps that indicate the operator's intent to turn by displaying flashing lights to the front and rear of a vehicle or combination of vehicles and on that side of the vehicle or combination toward which the turn is to be made. They are required on all bikes newer then 1960 You can see here how it takes all the light and magnifies it forward. Now you made me look it up and I was wrong their is no distance only as far as practical. It might look funny to some (like cracked ice light) but once you are ~5+ft back it looks like a solid beam of light anyway. I went with optics because for a DRL, you want the intensity and brightness. PRO: more intensity + More efficient (need less LED's)ĬONS: More expensive to manufacture + you can see the LED's themselves PRO: Diffuses light more evenly+ cheap to manufacureĬON: See a big white strip + loose intensity Fitting all the drivers/controllers/etc internally, then making proper optics to make them the brightest and most efficientġ)Phosphorus Coating(the white stuff you see over halos) These have taken a while, as they are pretty complex. We are looking good, just have to nail down all the connections and tweak a few things.ĭRL->Normal TURN->Sequential TURN-> Reverse Sequential TURN
